My singers update

Yeah for David Archuleta. He took forgotten lyrics mistake last week and made himself better. Now his forgotten lyrics are forgotten by all. I thoroughly enjoyed him last night.

I was with the judges on being disappointed in Brooke White last night. I hope she will go back to singing stationary. I couldn’t believe that she did so bad with a Beatles song. Who can bomb a Beatles song besides KristyLee Cook?

And, LG was so upset that her dress was too revealing…he was thoroughly disappointed, despite my efforts in telling him that it was relatively modest. Oh, you should have heard what LeGrand was saying….I will save it for my own ears…it wasn’t very positive, but let’s just say that he expects people (performers or not) to live up to their temple covenants (dressing modestly being one of the most important). If it was up to LG, he would have single handedly voted her off last night, just because of her dress!

And isn’t it funny that Paula Abdul will always compliment someone on what they look like whenever she is about to dish out negative feedback? Like saying, “well, you look gorgeous tonight” makes up for the following, “but, your pitch was all over the place, you chose the wrong song and you may be in trouble”.

Let it Be

I was thoroughly entertained by AI’s Top 12 last night. Here is a good article with all the scoop.

Brooke White sang a great reminder to me personally last night. The message she brought to my living room from The Beatles was “Let it Be”. What a great reminder to me with some stuff I have been going through lately. I never recognized the spiritual message embedded in this song.

My other favorite, dredlock boy (I can never remember his name) did wonderfully last night also.

As for David Archuleta, I have to quote what I overheard a random Harley rider tell his friends over lunch at Applebee’s today. “Man, my man forgot his words last night. I was so bummed. I couldn’t believe it, he just choked. I hope he comes back strong next week.”

Do you think that David Archuleta understands how much this whole country is rooting for him?I mean right here in Knoxville, TN, there was a table full of rough tough looking guys right next to a table of Mormon stay home moms who all consider him “our man”! C’mon David, we are all praying for you. And as for last night, my advice to David, “let it be”.

Wow, that message is really universal….I am going to focus on letting things be this week.

For Dave

Our friend Dave was convinced that his MANLY genetics would only produce a boy the first time around.

Well, here is a picture of their sweet baby GIRL!

I am sure it won’t take Dave long to realize that a takes a true MANLY man to wrap her around his finger.

The Mommy Blog reminded me of this song: I am posting it just for you Dave, even though you won’t read this.

David Archuleta, Shy?

I love the underdog!

This article was extremely interesting and makes me love David Archuleta even more. The people who know Archuleta the best say that he is unassuming, humble, and shy. They also say that he doesn’t hope for stardom, he just wants to keep loving music. This doesn’t surprise me. Neither does the fact that he wasn’t popular at his alma mater, Murray High School. Someone unassuming, humble and shy is not usually in the “in crowd”, especially in Utah.

Oh, how I hope that my kids will just be who they are and love what they love and not worry about what other people think. Usually, the greatest people amongst us aren’t noticed very much. They just go about doing their thing. I hope that David Archuleta doesn’t give those “popular kids” the time of day when he goes back home for a visit. Oh, how they will wish they would have noticed him sooner! I can just hear them all saying for the rest of their lives, “I was in the same class/school as David Archuleta?” Oh yeah, we’re you friends? “No not really.”

The challenge of the day: get out of your shell and NOTICE someone for the person that they are. Everyone has greatness.

Is America ready for a gay idol?

After last night’s results, I guess the answer is no.

Hey, but what about Clay Aiken? It sounds here likeClay wants America to know that he is straight. Good for him.
Sorry to DW who doesn’t like to read about AI. (Just a suggestion, you don’ t have to read every post) Despite the AI haters (such as DW) I am very happy that my four faves are still in.

I haven’t been feeling very good and it is really easy to throw up a post about Americal Idol. I will get back to a story, hopfully sooner rather than later.

I was wrong.

I rarely admit it, but because two people so kindly corrected me, I kind of have to let you all know that I am better informed now.

It wasn’t Alaina that does the impressions. It is Kady Malloy. Here is her you tube from last night.

The good news, now I am not at all bummed that Alaina is gone…maybe we will get one more good impression from this girl before she goes. 🙂

American Idol Results

I was at the church last night for a visiting teaching conference and so I missed the results show.

Our Zion’s Army was a lot of fun! In TN, it seems that we have a hard time getting sisters out for stuff like this. The conference combined two wards and there were still only about 30 women there. The ones who didn’t attend really missed out. The food was great and so was the company. Our army training workshops were also a lot of fun!

I checked out the results this morning on american idol.com. I was pretty confident that my favorites weren’t going anywhere.

I am pleased with America’s choices, but I am a little sad about Alaina…I think she has potential…I hope she will start her own impressionist talent show in Vegas someday..her impressions are amazing, and supposedly her singing is too, but unforutnately, she was never able to pull it out.

If I were on the show, I would rather be booted now than later. I mean really, why prolong the misery if you have no chance of winning anyway? And, that, ladies and gentlemen, proves my competitive spirit.
