This video almost made me cry.
It has a powerful message.
And I think that Rita is really going to like it.

There is nothing better than the web bringing people together for a good cause.
We are all so different, yet we are one.
I loved this song when I was a teenager.
I would fall madly in love with any boy who could play it on his guitar.
And, I am tired and must go to bed and it was the best thing I found on YouTube for my Tuesday post.
I hope you enjoy.
Last Sunday was our Stake Conference.
Elder David A. Bednar was presiding. I felt so humbled and privileged to be in the presence of a modern day Apostle.
I wished I would have invited all of Knoxville to attend the meetings with me. I also wished that all of Knoxville was willing to believe that there really are modern day Apostles who speak as the prophets of old.
I cannot even begin to describe the feelings of my heart.
The message Elder Bednar delivered made me realize so strongly that the messages given by the leaders of the church are not about the man who is delivering the message. But, the messages are really about the Savior Jesus Christ, who Apostles are privileged to be a special witness for.
One of the most touching moments of the conference for me was the message of receiving power through the atonement of Christ.
Many people consider the atonement as only a sanctification through forgiveness of sins, but Elder Bednar instructed so profoundly that the atonement is also the way which each of us individually gains the strength of God.
With God, all things are possible.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. ~ Philipians 4:13
And, it’s Wednesday, so here is a video that I thought was inspiring.
It illustrates that we have got to push ourselves and trust in something beyond our limited vision and we can accomplish more than we ever thought was possible.
And, there should be no other perfect person to place that trust in except for God himself.
Last week, I posted a little Tim Hawkins. He was making us laugh about the old school playground.
Well, lo and behold, a blogging friend of mine also posted something very funny from Tim Hawkins. After showing it to LG and hearing him bust a gut, I’ve decided to share the link.
But, in accordance with blogging 101, I am not stealing the video, I am sending you directly to my blogging friend for your viewing pleasure. And, just a heads up, it’s funny, but it’s funnier if you live in the South or are a lover of country music.
And, here are some more that I found funny from my new funny hero Tim Hawkins:

I had one of the best walks down memory road recently at a little park in Sayre, OK.
(I think that is the right state)
When we stopped to eat at a very retro park close to the interstate,
I just had to take pictures!
When would I ever see playground equipment like this again?
There must not be a single lawyer in this little country town.
I can’t believe that playground equipment like this is still in existence,
much less, actually STILL in a park.
If it wasn’t 110 degrees outside, I would have INSISTED my kids take a try on that slide.
Those were the days, weren’t they…you know, the ones when it was fun to go to the park and brave the safety hazards….oh man, old school, when are you coming back to us?
Cheryl sent me a YouTube video of this Nick Pitera singing.
In the video she sent to me, I was trying to figure out if he was lip syncing because his voice was unbelievably HIGH and good!
Then I found this recording where he showcases his a little more than mediocre man voice and his amazing woman voice. If you don’t want to watch the whole thing, fast forward to about 50 seconds into it and listen to his man for about 10 seconds and then he will go into the female part.
It’s just crazy. My girls and their friend Emma have been freaking out all morning.
This gives me a little understanding into my husband’s voice. I’ve always teased him that he is stuck in primary because he can sing the melody of any song almost perfectly when he sings it in a high soprano, but he has never really mastered singing in the lower register. Maybe I should just start letting him sing the woman part and I can sing the man one. My voice is getting lower every day!
My vote is in for Nick Pitera to record for the next Disney princess? What do you think?
“I love water”, she says.
At five, she obviouslly doesn’t understand the negative impact of a flood.
I think that that she thinks that her weather jacket is just a snazzy costume.
Thanks to the WBIR TV and The Weather Channel for this wonderful service provided at our Back to School First Night Celebration (which I can’t find a single thing about online, sorry)
My girls enjoyed the free celebration on the evening of the first day of school. No free food was there, but lots and lots of giveaway and a really retro boy band that I will post about later.
Sophia and Abigail were pooped out from a whole long day at school and they had no desire to pretend work for the weather channel, but prefered to stand in line for the big blow up slide.
It would have been nice to see what the teleprompter actually said, don’t you think?
Thanks to an old friend, Jen Guthrie, for a really funny piece of entertainment.
I was really happy to find Jen’s new blog.
I haven’t talked to her in years. And her and Paul are crazy funny.
I know that I am going to be in trouble for dissing on the South again, but I have to tell you something that I noticed on our vacation out west.
The customer service in Utah was just so much better than what we get here.
Do you think it’s because Mormons aim to please?
Or maybe because today’s kids just don’t really care?
Next time I am going to keep my order simple and see if I can get some service with a smile.
