For my lover boy

Everyone seem to have posted something really sweet for their spouse yesterday, and all I came up with was the depressing last post. Give me a break, I was up throwing up the whole night before.

I do love my man, and was especially grateful that he was there for me yesterday….not because it was the big holiday, but because he took care of the kids while I slept away most of the day, trying to recover.

This video is for you LG, I know you will enjoy!

Britian’s Got Talent

LG introduced me to one of the most popluar YouTube videos right now. It is obvious why LG thinks this a cool clip. But what most people don’t know about LG is that he is also a soprano, just like this Brit.

Truly, LG has never learned to sing anything past what he sang in church primary. He can hold a tune in soprano, but is still trying to figure out how to sing other manly parts of music. I do give him kudos for always practicing though.

And, what does this have to do with English Ed&Et you ask? Well, hello, Simon Cowell! He is one of my favorite Britishman. I love his honesty. Americans just can’t handle people like Simon and I. This clip is from his show, “Britian’s Got Talent”. This male soprano is just amazing! It is no surprise that he won the grand prize which consisted of a good amount of money and a chance to perform for the Queen.

From the clip comes the English word of the day: goose pimple! Doesn’t that just sound nasty? So people in the UK actually have pussy pimples when they get those tingles? Nah, I’m just kidding. We know what they mean, but really, just so you English people know, in the US, they are called goose bumps, not pimples. The word pimple is only uttered when referring to the yucky adolescent thing we call acne.

Were Mormons Made for American Idol?

I can’t put the music in the title, but I wish I could. I just get so giddy hearing the themesong!!! It’s that time of year again. I hope this show will live on forever…It’s not only totally entertaining, but fun for the whole family.

Do you know what my favorite part is, besides the bad singers….trying to figure out which contestants are Mormons? Tonight, on the season premiere, there was this married nanny who just sounded like every other Molly Mormon mother I know….”Oh, these kids are my best friends.” And, she has never drank, smoked, or watched a Rated R movie, and neither has her husband. She is originally from Mesa, AZ, but now lives in CA and was dressed totally modestly….She is a Mormon for SURE!!!!

Growing up in California, the cool kids were in choir. A lot of those kids were Mormon. Of course, we are known for our Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Mormons can sing. It is part of our culture.

And American Idol has been invaded by that culture. From Carmen Rasmussen to Jon Peter Lewis, we are having a good representation. Now, if we could just win! Maybe 2008 will be our year. If my assumptions are correct, we could have a Mormon married nanny win American Idol and if my assumptions are incorrect (which I hope that they are) we could have a Mormon Mitt Romney as The President of The United States.

No matter what, I will be enjoying American Idol more than the presidential campaigns (even if that makes me a little ignorant)
